Ingredients
  

Sloppy Joe Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey/chicken as a leaner option
  • 1/2 cup ketchup or tomato sauce for a less sweet version
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard Dijon can be used for a deeper flavor
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar optional, for extra sweetness

For Serving

  • 4 hamburger buns brioche or potato buns recommended

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Break it into crumbles while cooking. Drain excess grease.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar (if using). Mix well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust the flavor if needed. Add more mustard for tanginess or a little brown sugar for extra sweetness.
  • Toast hamburger buns for extra flavor, then spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the buns. Serve hot and enjoy!
